PepsiCo Music Movement

PepsiCo Music Movement

• Introduction

PepsiCo planned to organize a music event to promote its product line. As you may know, the branding of the company’s best-known product – Pepsi, is deeply connected to music and pop culture (its competitor Coke cooperates with athletes for marketing on the other hand). The event name was “Music Movement”, and it required a gaming stall, a beverage stall, and a performance stage.

PepsiCo Gaming Stall

Gaming Stall

The gaming stall would provide a play station to entertain the audience. Its design needed to have the PepsiCo or Pepsi elements, to echo the music theme, to have a storage room for awards, and most importantly, to look cool.

It was not easy to satisfy all the requirements. The initial ideas included using music instrument die-cuts to decorate a storage room with Pepsi stickers, or putting a real electronic piano in front of a small room formed by Pepsi boxes. But none of them worked out aesthetically.

Eventually, Li Tuo Kobe used a gigantic earphone to circle a big Pepsi-can which served as the storage room, as shown in the picture above. This design impressed the client because each part of it was meaningful and well-considered, and the “music element” didn’t steal the thunder of the “Pepsi element”.

PepsiCo Beverage Stall

Beverage Stall

Based on the gaming stall design, Li Tuo Kobe came up with the idea of the beverage stall. This time, the Peipsi-can storage room was white.

Pepsico Performing Stage

Performance Stage

The stage design was neat. Li Tuo Kobe used PepsiCo’s corporate blue and several simple shapes to construct a dynamic setting for performances.
